Experience:
I love empowering my clients, encouraging them to be curious about learning how innovative Insurance strategies can support their long term financial goals. Expertise in unearthing liquidity and cash flow risks you may not be aware of.
My earlier financial work was in the mortgage industry, which has only solidified my foundation in becoming a think out of the box Independent Insurance Broker. I excelled at securing residential mortgages in an industry where obtaining financing was very competitive. The insurance industry is no different and I am the Broker who will be most resourceful.
Mortgages and Insurance do share something in common; they are both financial tools that help my clients create a more balanced financial plan. I enlighten my clients about the benefits of including Insurance products in their financial portfolios.
Initial training in Insurance was with New York Life Insurance; a solid carrier. I later choose to become an Insurance Broker gaining the freedom to pick and choose which products from different carriers will benefit my clients. As an independent Insurance Broker I am best able to work for you the client and not the Insurance Company.
Simultaneously, my healthcare volunteering has led to broader healthcare work, engaging patients with their healthcare. With one position, as a Case Manager Assistant, I worked with patients whose doctors prescribed they needed continual care, after being discharged from the hospital, at a skilled nursing facility (SNF). I would obtain their approvals from their insurance companies for their care.
I saw the ramifications if a patients was approved to go to SNF for specifically long-term-care but did not have the finances set up for the SNF. Many times, the patient’s family was not prepared to go through the necessary financial steps, leaving the patient in the hospital when there was no longer a medical necessity. The family ends up having to pay out of pocket for the additional days, because it was no longer medically necessary for the patient to still be in the hospital.
My continual work at the hospital has only deepened my commitment to educating the public about the necessity of having a Long-Term Care Insurance policy in place. Life happens and you never know when this type of care is needed.
